1. The United States is about to resume oil and gas leasing projects

Biden authorities said in court documents on Tuesday that they would restart oil and gas leasing projects in the western United States and the Gulf of Mexico, and planned to hold an auction of oil and gas blocks in the Gulf of Mexico as early as October.

In January this year, US President Biden ordered the suspension of oil and gas leasing projects so that the Ministry of the interior could conduct a comprehensive review of these projects, such as the impact on climate change. The move was strongly opposed by relevant practitioners. They took the Biden government to court. Louisiana district judge Terry doughty ruled in June that the suspension order of the Biden government was invalid and the lease of oil and gas projects should be resumed as soon as possible.

 

2. Petrobras began production of its first FPSO in the s é PIA field

Petrobras has begun to use FPSO (floating storage and unloading unit) Carioca to produce oil and natural gas, which is the first platform of s é PIA oilfield under salt in Santos basin.

FPSO is located about 200km away from the coast of Rio de Janeiro, with a water depth of 2200m. FPSO Carioca leased from modec has a processing capacity of 180000 barrels / day and a natural gas compression capacity of 6 million cubic meters.

 

3. Global oil giants may participate in bidding for BPCL, India’s third largest oil refining enterprise

4. The number of oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States increased for the 13th consecutive month

5. Transocean won a usd252 million ultra deepwater drilling vessel contract

Transocean announced last week that BOE exploration & production LLC (BOE) awarded it a confirmed contract worth US $252 million for the new ultra deep water drilling ship deepwater atlas, including US $30 million mobilization fee.

 

6. ADNOC signs $1 billion framework agreement

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) signed concept and front end engineering design (feed) service framework agreements with eight different contractors last week, with a total value of nearly $1 billion. The company explained that the scope of the agreement was based on the forecast demand of ADNOC group for external project engineering services.

 

7. Pgnig: Norway Duva oilfield officially put into operation

Operator Neptune energy and its partners recently announced the successful launch of the Duva development project in Norway in the North Sea.

Duva is an oil and gas field located in pl636 and pl636c blocks in the North Sea, 140 km north of Bergen. The total estimated reserves are 71 million barrels of oil equivalent, of which 56% are natural gas. The field is expected to produce for about 10 years.

 

8. ExxonMobil is preparing to drill a third well in canje block

ExxonMobil, the oil giant, is preparing to start drilling a third well in the canje block off Guyana this year. Previously, the integrated energy company achieved amazing success in the 6.6 million acre Stabroek offshore block, with 20 oil discoveries. However, in canje block located in the northeast of Stabroek block, Exxon’s first two drilling activities have not been successful, although it is expected to have oil and gas potential equivalent to that of Stabroek block.
